Katie O'Brien
I am 27 and I have lived in Huddersfield all my life. I have been dancing since the age of 8 learning ballroom, rock & roll, freestyle, and street dance. I then started showcasing my dancing at competitions across the UK, including Dancer of the year in Ireland, IDTA finals, BDO, UDO street competitions, and ADFP open competitions. I was a crucial part of the national winning team 4 years running, and in 2018, I placed 6th in freestyle slow dance at IDTA nationals. At the age of 23, I retired from freestyle and decided to pursue a career in teaching dance and performing arts to students. In August of 2020 I achieved my IDTA associate dance teachers qualification, and have been teaching ever since.I am very happy to be working along side Lindsay and Tristan at Tristan Dance Studios and looking forward to my future at the school.
